put a turbocharged 3800 v6 from a regal turbo in it. that’ll solve all your problems.

Hi guys. I have an ’84 SE automatic. The paint and interior are great. The underside looks quite good! I fixed the headlight motors. The engine is toast; I’ve ordered a reman and reman transmission also. But I’ve been reading alot of forums and some say the things are absolute money pits. So now I’m totally bummed out. What’r you guys’ opinions?

A Fiero was my first car. Don’t get it as a first car unless you have money to fix the problems you will encounter and are willing to pay up to $200 for a part that would cost a civic or focus like $45 because some guy named Bob had to pull it out of a Fiero broken down in a junkyard in Arizona like what happened to me. Parts are hard to find and cost a bunch. Not a good first car if you’re a teenager. Believe me.

I had a 84 2m4 as my first car, that was 1994 though. All these Fiero’s are 20 something years old, replace all rubber engine mounts and suspension, try to find a poly kit, get the shocks, brakes and mounts perfect. Verify clutch as it’s expensive to replace. The V6 will sheer the exhaust manifold bolts if you drop the clutch too much with weak engine mounts. Best year is 88. It is a fun car to ride, does not rust. hope the AC is perfect before you buy. make sure the seal is good on a sunroof.

197,000 miles, and and it’s silver. I can’t afford new mufflers, but the ones I have are too loud anyway.

  18. Comment by Declipse16 — January 21, 2010 @ 1:44 pm

How many miles are on it? did i ask you what color it was? My grand prix is a 3.1 and i put cherry bomb turbo mufflers on it and they sound great you should get some for your fiero

  19. Comment by MisterHolaMan — January 23, 2010 @ 7:53 am

It’s an SE with the 2.8 v6, but it’s really loud. Definetly needs oil.

lmao it is expensive to tow, when I got my camaro it was so exciting. What motor does your fiero have? Is it a GT? fastback?

  21. Comment by MisterHolaMan — January 26, 2010 @ 6:41 am

$375, 197k miles, and it’s been sitting for a while. Needs different brakes cuz the idiots before me let it sit with the e-brake on. I can’t jack it up because the jack point is completely rusted away, and the best part, I can only work on it in a parking lot behind a vacant building, since it doesn’t move at all, and I can’t afford to tow it! It will be fun to work on though.

You’re lucky, I’m mostly into firebirds and camaros (I finally got an iroc in june) but i’m starting to get into these cars. Are you gonna post a video of yours? I’d love to see it, are you fixing it up or is yours already in great condition?
