Go with a supercharger or turbo, superchargers are much better because they kick in earlier, and they last longer as in turbo cutts out at 100km, but supercharger cuts out at 120, which is completely theoretical, but its true. Computer upgrades are the first thing tho, its the easiest.

If price isn’t an issue, then sell it to Carmax. They will buy any car….. but don’t expect more than 50% of wholesale Blue Book.

Or you can list it free on Pennysaverusa.com, Craigslist.com or Recycler.com.

I’d suggest the Boxster. That is one nice/cool car.

EDIT: Corvette is okay, but they won’t sell you one unless you are 50+, and it can’t touch the Porsche cool factor (or luxury).

try ebay…set a minimum price and don’t change the condition of the truck after posting it for bids. ebay sells alot of vehicles.
Then theres the normal car action route..but you normally get screwed there..or run it in a newspaper in your town and area other than you town… somebody right now is wanting your truck..you just have to make them aware.

get the chip for now, save your money and buy a crate motor from the factory with the hp you want, have the dealer install it
if they will, but that way you have a new motor with the power and a great warranty. anything goes wrong they fix it.

Make your own ads and post it at the local college or even a laundry mat or super market. That always works for me. The internet is so broad, you can run into someone that will definitely waste your time, but should work as well.

Before you even consider this… remember that this is considered a 2-door sports coupe, and insurance is going to be murder.

And, as McCoy alluded to… these things are HIGH when it comes time to repair. The SC400 had some parts that were not carryover from other Lexus models, and are in short supply.

Good first car for a teen? Not really. If you want speed, they didn’t really have it. Looks were ok, but they are showing their age.

You can go to the BMW dealer and find great used cars. Just a few years old with low miles for around 14k. an 04 with 25k for 16,000. Seems like a good deal to me.

The new mustang GT! hands down. It has a lesser weight to horsepower ratio making it way too light to be that fast. The torque has also been up’d making it way more powerful on it’s take off. The gear ratio in the transmission has also been tweeked a little and made shorter for faster more efficient shifting. By far a beautiful machine! the only thing that I know that ford makes that seriously outdoes it is the new Shelby cobra. Even ferrari is pissed off at that thing. Hope that helped.

I can think of some that are all under $20k.
Here are 25 ideas in no particular order (my apologies if some of the listings have been removed):
1) Dodge Neon SRT-4 (MOPAR Stage 2 or 3 kit makes it really fast-FWD) This car is about the best “bang for the buck” for an inexpensive performance car
2) ‘95-’02 Chevy Camaro Z28 or SS (get the V8, not the V6-RWD)
3) Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-X (AWD)

The MR-2 Spyder is slow, but it gets good fuel economy, and with a turbo or more powerful engine can be made to be fast, as it’s quite light.
5) BMW E46 M3 (RWD)
6) Mazda MX-5 Miata (the new model with exposed headlights-RWD)
This one isn’t fast either, but it’s a RWD car, making it better for power increases. However, it’s more difficult to give a bigger engine or whatever, because that will most likely mess up the weight balance.
Also, the new model is available with a convertible hardtop, which I think is pretty cool.
7) ‘93-’95 Mazda RX-7 (twin turbo-RWD) Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo (RWD)

14) 2008 Chevy Cobalt SS (turbo-FWD)
15) Dodge Caliber SRT-4 (FWD)
A more refined car than the Neon SRT-4, this one is also heavier and not quite as fast, but still quick.
16) Mercedes C32 AMG (RWD)
17) Mercedes C55 AMG (RWD)
18) Audi S4 (RWD)
19) Audi S6 (RWD)
20) Subaru WRX (AWD)
21) Nissan 350Z (RWD)
22) Mercedes-Benz SLK 350 (RWD)
23) Honda S2000
24) Mustang GT (RWD)
25) Mazda RX-8 (RWD)

More sub-$30k cars: most_fun_for_25_000_feature

A few 0-60 times:
GMC Typhoon: 5 seconds or less
GTO: about 4.7 seconds.
M3: About 4.5
SRT-4: 5.5
MazdaSpeed3: 5.5
2008 Cobalt SS (turbo): 5.5
Audi S4: About 5 seconds
Audi S6: 6 seconds or less
Mercedes C32 AMG: About 4.8 seconds
Camaro Z28: 5.5
The Camaro SS is probably faster than the Z28.
350Z and G35: Lower 5-seconds range
The SRT-4 can decrease that sprint to below 5 seconds with a MOPAR Stage 3 kit, while a Stage 2 will make it run low-5s, probably.
The Miata and MR-2 Spyder both get from 0-60 in the 7-second range, I believe. All of these can be tuned to be faster than they are already, of course.

If I were looking for a sub-$20 car to fix up and make faster (and if I wasn’t too concerned about fuel economy), I think I’d take something like one of the Mercedes AMGs, because they are pretty quick, comfortable, have adaptive suspension, and having a Mercedes AMG is both classy and cool.

If you need to sell it really fast, have you considered taking it to an auction? You may or may not get the full asking price, but it is a guaranteed sale quick, and you don’t have to worry about warranties or guarantees on the truck, etc.

Also, some dealerships buy cars from the general public.

Fast, No, this car was built for old man cruising, not speed.
Cool, Somewhat, There are much better looking sports cars out there.
Reliable, probably (it is a Toyota after all!) but any used car is questionable.

If you can find one put a 460 cu. in. engine in it. It will be fast, especially if you have an auto transmission. Another engine if you can find one would be a 351 Cleveland.

I’ve had alot of both of those engines in some of my fords over the years.

They are durable, mileage is a bit of a problem, you won’t find any economy using those engines but the power is always there when you need it.
