i would like to know can the intake go bad at any point and what might be the reason. it was on a 305 motor and the car wouldnt stay running. when we took it off and put on another intake it fired right up and ran fine. so i want to know will it work if i put it on another 305 motor. or is the intake in fact bad.

I clean carberator with cleaner. Had rust from gas tank. After initial start up, the engine ran great. Then after trying to adjust the two jets to balance, the carberator lock to full throttle. This was after several time of stopping and starting working with timeing to improve start and acceleration. This carb only has the one pump and spring with dual floats.

I ordered it from Ohio so it should be set for sea level, but I want to know what size I need for this altitude of 5000ft.
5.0L with no real modifications, and a 3 spd ford gearbox, and a standard 9in. rear end, and not going to race it.. Just street.

theyre bigger than y block, with center bolt holes closer in than a y block. theyre not nail head either. heavy cast alum edelbrock, look like from the 60’s they are bad ass, but they dont fit.
